Who We Are

GridAstra is a deep-tech energy software company, whose seeds were sown towards the end of 2023 with the mission to help accelerate and sustain the transition to the ‘Grid of the Future’. Our founders have more than four decades of collective experience in research, design, development, and commercialization of industry-leading grid software products. Currently, with more than 150 years of combined experience in grid tech, our team at GridAstra is laser-focused on solving the biggest bottleneck in the pathway to the ‘Grid of the Future’ – Grid Congestion. Thus, we have developed the ‘first-ever’ ID-GETs suite of software solutions to address the challenges of Grid Congestion in both planning and operations of the grid. And, we are just getting started…

Our Vision

GridAstra was founded with the fundamental belief that grid software demands a radical shift to power the ‘Grid of the Future’ – where the software doesn’t just ‘analyze’, but can actually ‘think smart’ to help solve challenging and complex problems of the grid. Grid software needs to be re-imagined as a ‘true partner of humans’ in collectively addressing the growing complexities in planning and operating the power grid in a reliable, resilient, and cost-effective manner. Thus, such new age grid software products must be capable of autonomous decision support, for which it is important to go beyond the borders of the traditional silos and operate at the intersection of ‘physics-based’ and ‘data-driven’ intelligence. Our vision is not just to build software to support the ‘Grid of the Future’, but to actually help shape it.

Our Mission

We believe that building the ‘Grid of the Future’ starts with enabling a grid that’s not just bigger, but is also more flexible – a grid that can smartly adapt to support seamless interconnection and operation of the new generation, storage, and loads that are stuck in the queue today. At GridAstra, we are on a mission to re-invent grid software – the software that can think, optimize, and flex the grid intelligently. By combining reliability with affordability, our software platform is designed to unlock the latent capacity of the existing grid to accelerate the interconnection and enable sustained operation of new resources in the grid, which will be foundational for the ‘Grid of the Future’.
